Thermocouple R & S Type – Spesialisasi High Working Temperature Thermocouple

Thermocouple type R & S ini adalah item premium dengan harga yang tinggi. Hal ini dikarenakan fungsi dan material yang digunakan sebagai element sensor didalamnya terdapat kandungan emas putih dengan kualitas premium.

Dalam bahasa secara teknisnya, Thermocouple type R dan S menggunakan material platinum–rhodium untuk setiap konduktornya. Thermocouple jenis ini adalah item yang paling stabil diantara type lainnya, meskipun ia memiliki sensitivitas yang lebih rendah daripada type lainnya (sekitar 10v/°C). Spesifikasi pemakaian untuk item type R & S biasanya digunakan hanya untuk pengukuran suhu tinggi.

Element R Type

Thermocouple Type R menggunakan paduan platinum-rhodium yang mengandung 13% rhodium untuk satu konduktor dan platinum murni pada konduktor lainnya. Thermocouple Type R ini dapat digunakan hingga suhu 1600 °C.

Element S Type

Thermocouple Type S menggunakan 2 wire. Pertama, wire dengan kandungan 90% Platinum dan 10% Rhodium (wire positif) dan wire kedua dengan kandungan 100% platinum (wire negatif). Seperti thermocouple type R,  thermocouple type S juga dipergunakan untuk suhu tinggi  hingga 1600°C. Secara spesifik, khusus Thermocouple type S digunakan sebagai standar kalibrasi untuk titik leleh emas (1064,43°C).
